Job Summary: The Senior Structural Engineer will play a key role in structural design and analysis for FPSO projects in Kuala Lumpur. This position requires 5-10 years of experience, with a strong focus on FPSO and offshore projects. The role is initially a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance for up to three years.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform structural design and analysis for FPSO topsides and hull structures.
- Conduct detailed engineering calculations to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with other engineering systems.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Conduct structural assessments for offshore installations and modifications.
- Ensure that all structural designs comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project teams.
- Participate in site inspections and offshore surveys as needed.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project requirements and deliverables.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations as required by the project.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on FPSO projects.
- Offshore experience is a must.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SACS, STAAD, ANSYS).
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to offshore and FPSO structures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
- Experience working with international and multicultural teams is a plus.
- Willingness to travel offshore and participate in site inspections as needed.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer, PE) are an advantage.
