Scope of work
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Piping Stress Engineer to join our team. As a Piping Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing and designing piping systems for FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading), FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas), and MOPU (Mobile Offshore Production Unit) projects. Your expertise in stress analysis, structural integrity, and industry standards will be crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of offshore facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform stress analysis and design of piping systems for FPSO, FLNG, and MOPU projects.
- Conduct structural integrity assessments of piping systems, considering various loading conditions, including pressure, temperature, vibration, and seismic forces.
- Develop detailed stress analysis reports and provide recommendations for optimizing piping designs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including process engineers, structural engineers, and project managers, to ensure the seamless integration of piping systems into offshore facilities.
- Review and interpret project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
- Provide technical support during the fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases of offshore projects.
- Conduct periodic inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate remedial measures.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in piping stress analysis techniques.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in piping stress analysis within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on FPSO, FLNG, and MOPU projects.
- Proficient in using industry-standard software tools for stress analysis, such as CAESAR II, ANSYS, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards, including ASME B31.3, API 610, API 618, and ASME Section VIII.
- Familiarity with offshore engineering practices and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex piping system issues.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting project deadlines.
- A proactive approach to learning and keeping abreast of industry developments.
