Scope of work
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer with specific expertise in FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading), FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas), and offshore projects. The Senior Structural Engineer will lead and oversee the design, analysis, and construction of structural components for various offshore structures. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of industry standards and best practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design and analysis of structural components for FPSO, FLNG, and other offshore projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
2. Collaborate with the engineering team to establish design requirements, specifications, and performance criteria for offshore structures.
3. Conduct advanced structural analyses and calculations using industry-standard software to evaluate the structural integrity, stability, and performance of offshore structures.
4. Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction documents for structural components, considering cost-effectiveness, constructability, and maintainability.
5. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers, supporting their professional development and growth.
6. Collaborate with other disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, and piping, to ensure effective coordination and integration of design elements.
7. Review and interpret technical drawings, design documents, and specifications related to offshore structural components, providing technical expertise and guidance.
8. Participate in design review meetings, value engineering exercises, and constructability reviews, proposing design optimizations and solutions.
9. Perform on-site inspections, monitor construction progress, and provide technical support during the fabrication and installation of offshore structures.
10. Stay updated with the latest advancements, trends, and best practices in structural design, analysis, and construction for FPSO, FLNG, and offshore projects.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field.
2. Extensive experience (8+ years) in structural design, analysis, and construction, with a strong focus on FPSO, FLNG, or offshore projects.
3. Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for 2D and 3D modeling.
4. In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles, construction techniques, and materials commonly used in offshore structures.
5. Strong familiarity with industry standards and codes such as ABS, DNV, API, and ISO, relevant to offshore structures and FPSOs.
6. Proven expertise in conducting advanced structural analyses using industry-standard software such as STAAD Pro, ANSYS, or similar tools.
7. Excellent attention to detail and a track record of producing accurate and error-free designs, calculations, and construction documents.
8. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
9. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, with the capability to analyze complex design challenges and propose innovative solutions.
10. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
11. Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) software, offshore engineering tools, and project management concepts is highly desirable.
12. Professional engineering license or registration is a plus.
