Scope of work
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Piping Engineer to join our team in a challenging offshore environment. As a Piping Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, installation, and maintenance of piping systems for various offshore projects, with a specific focus on FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading), FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas), and MOPU (Mobile Offshore Production Unit) facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop piping design specifications, layouts, and material selection for offshore projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations, stress analysis, and hydraulic studies to optimize piping systems' performance and integrity.
- Prepare technical documentation, including piping specifications, data sheets, and material requisitions, to support procurement activities.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed piping installations and modifications, considering safety, operability, and maintainability aspects.
- Review and approve vendor documents, such as fabrication drawings, procedures, and inspection plans, to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the construction and commissioning teams during the installation, testing, and commissioning phases of piping systems.
- Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and industry best practices.
- Participate in design reviews, hazard identification studies, and incident investigations related to piping systems.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in piping technology, codes, and standards, and incorporate them into the project designs as applicable.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Additional certifications or specialized training in piping engineering will be a plus.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on offshore projects, preferably involving FPSO, FLNG, and MOPU facilities.
- In-depth knowledge of piping design principles, materials, codes, and standards, such as ASME B31.3, API 1104, and AWS D1.1.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard software tools for piping design and analysis, such as AutoCAD, Caesar II, and PDMS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform stress analysis and hydraulic calculations using appropriate software.
- Excellent understanding of safety regulations and practices related to offshore operations, including hazardous area classification and fire protection systems.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering piping engineering projects within schedule and budget constraints.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work in a challenging offshore environment, including offshore installations and occasional travel to project sites.
