Scope of work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead the naval architecture team in the design and development of FPSO projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Design and Analysis: Oversee the creation of detailed designs and perform complex analyses, including stability, hydrodynamics, and structural integrity assessments.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant international and local regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to coordinate project activities and ensure seamless integration of naval architecture with other project aspects.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges, employing creative and effective solutions to ensure project success.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in naval architecture, with at least 5 years in a lead role on FPSO projects in the oil and gas industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ANSYS, GHS, OrcaFlex) and strong analytical skills in stability, hydrodynamics, and structural analysis.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of international maritime regulations and standards (e.g., ABS, DNV, IMO).
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of managing and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.
