Job Title: Material Handling Engineer Job Summary: The Material Handling Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing material handling systems and solutions to optimize the storage, movement, and processing of materials within manufacturing, distribution, and logistics operations. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, evaluating equipment and technologies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities: System Design and Optimization: Design and develop material handling systems, equipment, and layouts to meet operational requirements. Analyze existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization. Equipment Selection and Integration: Evaluate and select appropriate material handling equipment, such as conveyors, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), robotic systems, and packaging solutions. Coordinate the integration and installation of new equipment into existing facilities or new projects. Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in material handling processes and develop solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve safety. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow and throughput. Safety and Compliance: Ensure that material handling systems and operations comply with relevant safety standards, regulations, and guidelines. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate hazards and risks. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field with a focus on material handling systems. Experience: Relevant experience (typically 3-5 years or more) in material handling engineering, logistics, or supply chain management. Experience with designing, implementing, and optimizing material handling systems and solutions. Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of material handling equipment, technologies, and systems. Proficiency in engineering software and tools related to material handling design and analysis.
