Scope of work
Responsibilities:
1) Develop and review specifications and design criteria for piping materials based on project requirements and industry standards.
2) Evaluate and select appropriate piping materials considering mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and compatibility with process fluids.
3) Prepare detailed material specifications for piping components, ensuring compliance with design calculations and project specifications.
4) Collaborate with procurement teams to identify reliable suppliers, review proposals, and ensure timely material procurement.
5) Coordinate material testing activities, review test reports, and perform failure analysis if needed.
6) Provide guidance to project teams, resolving technical issues related to piping materials during design, construction, and commissioning.
7) Assess changes to material specifications, evaluate impact, and recommend implementation strategies.
8) Maintain accurate records, prepare technical reports, and track progress of piping material-related activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Several years of relevant experience in piping material engineering.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, and fabrication methods.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
- Proficient in material selection and evaluation techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Professional certifications or licenses are advantageous.
