Scope of work
A Field Engineer Offshore is responsible for providing technical support and expertise in various aspects of offshore operations. Their primary role is to ensure the smooth execution of engineering projects and maintenance activities in offshore environments such as oil rigs, offshore platforms, or marine installations.
1. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance to the offshore team on engineering projects, equipment installations, and maintenance activities.
2. Project Execution: Collaborate with project managers and field teams to plan and execute engineering projects, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines, technical specifications, and project timelines.
3. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues or equipment failures that may arise during offshore operations, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions.
4. Equipment Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of offshore equipment, machinery, and systems to identify any signs of wear, damage, or potential failures.
5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, maintenance activities, and project progress, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
6. Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment for the offshore team.
7. Collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and maintenance, to ensure seamless communication and efficient project execution.
1. Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering (such as mechanical, electrical, civil, or petroleum engineering) is typically required. Some employers may also consider candidates with relevant technical diplomas or certifications.
2. Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in engineering principles, offshore systems, and equipment is essential. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations is also important.
3. Field Experience: Prior experience in offshore operations, engineering projects, or related industries is highly desirable. This may include internships, co-op programs, or entry-level positions.
4. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify solutions, and implement effective troubleshooting measures.
5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to collaborate with offshore teams, contractors, and stakeholders effectively.
6. Adaptability: Offshore environments can be challenging and unpredictable. Field Engineers Offshore must be adaptable, resilient, and able to work under pressure.
7. Safety Consciousness: A strong commitment to safety protocols and a comprehensive understanding of offshore safety regulations and procedures are crucial.
8. Physical Fitness: Offshore work often requires physical stamina and the ability to work in demanding conditions, such as extreme weather or confined spaces.
9. Preferred had experiences in offshore/subsea installation and decom work that related with rigid pipeline, SURF, subsea structures, mooring chain etc. Most of works will be in SEA region.
