Senior Structural Designer

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Designer with specific expertise in FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading) projects. The Senior Structural Designer will lead and oversee the design and development of structural components for FPSO structures. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of industry standards and best practices. Responsibilities: 1. Lead the design and development of FPSO structural components, including hulls, decks, modules, supports, and other relevant elements. 2. Collaborate with the engineering team to establish design requirements, specifications, and performance criteria for FPSO structures. 3. Create accurate and detailed 2D and 3D models using computer-aided design (CAD) software, ensuring compliance with project guidelines and industry standards. 4. Conduct structural calculations, analyses, and simulations to evaluate the performance, stability, and safety of FPSO structures. 5. Review and interpret technical drawings, design documents, and specifications related to FPSO structural components, providing technical expertise and guidance. 6. Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, piping, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of design elements and interdisciplinary coordination. 7. Conduct design reviews and participate in design validation activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations. 8. Provide technical input and guidance to junior designers and draftsmen, assisting in their professional development and growth. 9. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to identify design issues, propose solutions, and optimize designs for cost-effectiveness and constructability. 10. Stay updated with the latest advancements, trends, and best practices in structural design and FPSO construction, incorporating them into the design process. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field. 2. Extensive experience (8+ years) in structural design, with a strong focus on FPSO projects. 3. Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for 2D and 3D modeling. 4. Deep knowledge of structural engineering principles, construction techniques, and materials commonly used in FPSO projects. 5. Strong familiarity with industry standards and codes such as ABS, DNV, API, and ISO, relevant to offshore structures and FPSOs. 6. Proven expertise in conducting structural calculations, analyses, and simulations using industry-standard software. 7. Excellent attention to detail and a track record of producing accurate and error-free designs and drawings. 8. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 9. Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify and address complex design challenges and propose innovative solutions. 10. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines. 11. Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) software and structural analysis tools is highly desirable. 12. Prior experience in mentoring and providing guidance to junior designers and draftsmen is a plus.
