Job Description: Project Contract Manager (PMC Project)
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Contract Manager to join our team for a PMC (Project Management Consultancy) project in the oil and gas industry. As the Project Contract Manager, you will be responsible for managing all contractual aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, mitigating risks, and fostering effective relationships with stakeholders. The project involves the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPC/EPCIC) of facilities related to FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas), LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), and FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading) systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Contract Management: Oversee all contractual activities throughout the project lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, subcontracts, and other legal documents. Ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and specifications.
2. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify and assess contractual risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies. Collaborate with project teams to proactively address potential issues and deviations from contract requirements.
3. Change Management: Evaluate change requests and assess their impact on project scope, cost, and schedule. Develop and implement change control processes to manage changes effectively. Communicate changes to relevant stakeholders and ensure proper documentation.
4. Claims Management: Handle and resolve contract-related claims, disputes, and variations. Work closely with project teams, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to negotiate and settle claims in a timely and fair manner.
5. Supplier and Contractor Management: Collaborate with procurement and project teams to manage relationships with suppliers and contractors. Monitor their performance, ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and address any issues that may arise.
6. Contract Administration: Establish and maintain an effective contract administration system, including documentation management, record-keeping, and contract closeout. Ensure proper filing and storage of contractual documents.
7. Compliance and Legal Support: Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Provide guidance and support to project teams on contractual and legal matters, including risk mitigation and dispute resolution.
8. Stakeholder Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and legal entities. Ensure timely and accurate reporting on contract-related matters.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including extensive experience in FLNG, LNG, and FPSO projects.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management within EPC/EPCIC projects.
3. Strong knowledge of contractual terms, conditions, and legal requirements in the oil and gas industry.
4. Experience in managing contracts with international suppliers and contractors.
5. Familiarity with Western continent contract laws and regulations.
6. Proven ability to negotiate and resolve complex contractual issues and disputes.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
9. Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, law, or a related field (advanced degree is a plus).
10. Expat status on the Western continent is preferred.
Contract Duration: The initial contract will be for a period of 12 months.
