Scope of work

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Offshore Structural Section Head to join our esteemed oil and gas company for a prestigious project in Bangkok, Thailand. The successful candidate will lead the structural engineering section and provide technical expertise in offshore structural engineering for FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading), FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas), and EPC/EPCIC projects. With a minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including extensive exposure to both onshore and offshore projects, the ideal candidate will bring valuable leadership and technical skills to drive the success of our projects.


Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and manage the offshore structural engineering section, overseeing the structural design, analysis, and engineering activities for oil and gas projects.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to structural engineers within the team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Offshore Structural Engineering:

  • Provide technical expertise in offshore structural engineering, including the design and analysis of steel structures, topsides, jackets, and modules for FPSO, FLNG, and EPC/EPCIC projects.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Project Execution:

  • Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute project plans, schedules, and budgets for offshore structural engineering activities.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues or challenges that may arise.

FPSO/FLNG Expertise:

  • Apply specialized knowledge in FPSO and FLNG projects to assess structural requirements, identify design considerations, and develop engineering solutions to meet project objectives.
  • Lead the structural design integration with other disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.

EPC/EPCIC Support:

  • Provide expert support to EPC and EPCIC projects, contributing to the development of comprehensive engineering solutions for offshore structural components.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure the successful execution of structural engineering deliverables.

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance and control processes for offshore structural engineering activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
  • Conduct technical reviews and audits to verify the accuracy and completeness of structural engineering deliverables.


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in offshore structural engineering within the oil and gas industry.
  • Extensive experience in FPSO, FLNG, and EPC/EPCIC projects is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles, analysis techniques, and industry codes and standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex structural engineering projects.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
