Scope of work
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced QA/QC Manager to lead our Quality Assurance and Quality Control efforts for a significant FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas), FSO (Floating Storage and Offloading), and FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading) project. The QA/QC Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that all project activities adhere to the highest quality standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in FLNG/FSO/FPSO projects, and familiarity with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning) contracts is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
1. Quality Management:
a. Develop, implement, and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) for the FLNG, FSO, and FPSO project.
b. Establish quality standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance throughout all project phases.
2. Quality Assurance:
a. Oversee the development and execution of quality assurance plans and strategies.
b. Ensure the project meets all quality requirements, specifications, and regulatory standards.
3. Quality Control:
a. Supervise quality control inspections, tests, and audits to verify compliance with established quality standards.
b. Review and approve QC documentation and reports.
4. Vendor and Supplier Management:
a. Evaluate, select, and manage quality-conscious vendors and suppliers.
b. Ensure that materials and equipment meet project quality requirements.
5. HSE Compliance:
a. Collaborate with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) teams to ensure that all QA/QC activities align with safety and environmental requirements.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
a. Maintain detailed records of quality control activities, non-conformities, and corrective actions.
b. Generate regular quality reports and present findings to project stakeholders.
7. Audits and Inspections:
a. Plan and conduct internal and external quality audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
8. Continuous Improvement:
a. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality processes, procedures, and best practices.
b. Identify opportunities for cost savings through improved quality control.
9. EPC/EPCIC Coordination:
a. Collaborate with the EPC and EPCIC teams to ensure seamless integration of QA/QC activities with project milestones.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in QA/QC management, with a strong focus on FLNG/FSO/FPSO projects.
3. Experience with EPC and EPCIC contracts is highly advantageous.
4. Proficiency in establishing and managing QMS.
5. Strong knowledge of industry quality standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Leadership and team management capabilities.
8. Availability to work in Shanghai, China, initially in an office setting and later at the shipyard.
9. Malaysian citizenship is a prerequisite.
