Scope of work
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Interface Engineer with a minimum of 10 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, to join our team in Jakarta, Indonesia. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in front-end engineering design (FEED) projects and a thorough understanding of interface management within complex engineering environments. This is a contract role with an initial duration of 12 months, with the potential for extension based on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage interface management activities within the assigned oil and gas FEED project, ensuring effective coordination and communication between various disciplines, stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers to identify, document, and mitigate potential interface issues.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive interface register that captures all interfaces within the project scope, including critical interfaces, design requirements, and dependencies.
- Conduct regular interface meetings to facilitate effective communication among project teams and identify potential clashes or discrepancies that might impact project timelines and deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams in resolving interface-related challenges and ensure alignment with project goals and standards.
- Interface with external contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements and to address any interface-related queries or concerns.
- Monitor the progress of interface deliverables, review documentation for accuracy and completeness, and ensure that all interface actions are tracked and closed out in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with project managers and lead engineers to develop and update interface management plans, strategies, and procedures as needed.
- Contribute to risk assessments and change management processes related to interfaces, and provide input to the overall project risk management plan.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) from a reputable institution.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in interface management within the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on FEED projects.
- In-depth understanding of oil and gas project lifecycle, engineering principles, and interface management best practices.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software tools for interface management, project scheduling, and document control.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying, analyzing, and resolving interface conflicts and issues in complex engineering projects.
- Experience working in multicultural and diverse project environments, especially within Indonesia.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and drive results within tight timelines.
- Relevant certifications in project management, interface management, or related disciplines will be considered a plus.
