Scope of work

Job Overview:

As a Senior Piping Material Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the piping material selection and procurement process for our projects. You will work closely with project teams to ensure that piping materials meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Your expertise in topsides and FPSO projects will be instrumental in delivering successful outcomes for our clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the piping material selection process, considering project requirements, material specifications, and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Develop piping material specifications and standards in accordance with project requirements and industry best practices.
  3. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that piping materials are compatible with project design and layout.
  4. Evaluate vendor proposals and make recommendations for the procurement of piping materials.
  5. Conduct technical reviews of piping material documentation, including material test reports, mill certificates, and inspection reports.
  6. Manage the inspection and testing of piping materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
  7. Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on piping material-related issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  8. Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and HAZOP sessions to identify and address piping material-related risks and challenges.
  9. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of piping materials to project sites.
  10. Maintain accurate records of piping material specifications, procurement activities, and inspection reports.


Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in piping material engineering, with a focus on topsides and FPSO projects.
  3. Strong understanding of piping material specifications, standards, and codes, including ASME, ASTM, and API.
  4. Proven experience in piping material selection, procurement, and quality control processes.
  5. Familiarity with piping material management software and tools.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Experience working in an EPC environment is preferred.
  10. Professional engineering certification (e.g., PE) is a plus.
