Scope of work

1. KEY OBJECTIVES

• Responsible for all drilling engineering duties, specifically for Exploration and/or

Development Wells Delivery. Work on an integrated team with drilling operation

supervision, completions, subsurface, production and/or subsea, construction (as

applicable to well scope). Responsible for delivery of well objectives and for ensuring

the safe and efficient drilling campaigns


2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Support the Exploration and Development Teams Objectives in meeting well delivery

requirements in a safe and cost-effective manner.

• Ensure company’s, regulatory requirement, and safe practices are adhered to

throughout all well planning, drilling operations and interfaces.

• Plan, Engineer, Procure and optimize well plans suitable for well objectives.

• Prepare well AFEs, monitor daily drilling costs, benchmark performance and ensure

accurate cost reporting and allocation.

• Conduct risk review, interface management and contingency planning of well plans.

• Work closely with the Drilling Superintendent and the Wellsite Supervisor in the

execution phase of drilling operations.

• Work closely with the Material and Logistics Team to ensure effective

communication, planning and operations support is achieved at the well-site.

• Primary contact for Drilling Operation Supervision and Subsurface teams on day-to-

day operations.

Responsible for drilling engineering and technical support to the Drilling Operation

Supervision team from the office and in the field when required.

• Plan and conduct DWOP and Pre-Spud Meetings for drilling operations.

• Be familiar with and ensure all regulatory requirement and guidelines are followed,

also responsible for Petronas reporting and approvals for operations.

• Completion of Drilling End of Well reports within required timeline after the end of

operations.

• Communicate and work closely with the Completions, Sub-sea, Pipelines and Project

Engineering (when applicable to well scope).

• Communicate with partners and keep them informed of plans and ongoing

operations.

• Support, in emergency situations, the necessary means to safeguard personnel,

environment, asset/properties, and the well(s).

• Responsible for ensuring that all regulatory permits are obtained prior to

commencing any well operation.

• Support and advise Drilling Operation Supervision team on non-routine procedures

and assist them in emergency situations.

• Maintain communication with contractors’ representatives on the operational status,

the lookahead program, troubleshooting, and other technical/operational matters.

• Conduct post well review meetings.

• Provide drilling and completions input to field development plans.

• Provide assistance to other team members/projects as required.


3. KEY AUTHORITIES

• As provided/assigned by Head of Drilling Operations Section.

• Reporting to Head of Drilling Operations Section.

• Liaise with other supporting function (procurement, finance and account, safety,

logistics) and peer disciplines (subsurface, production, completion, well services,

subsea, engineering & construction) as required by well scope.


5. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

POSITION SPECIFICATION

• Qualification : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering


• Working Experience : Minimum 12 years of experience in drilling

Engineering and Operations, preferable offshore

environment. Minimum 5 years in Drilling Engineer

Position with full cycle(s) of well delivery process.


• Special Skills Required : English Competency, MS Office Products

(language, computer skills Landmark Well Plan and Open Well or equivalent

specific software packages Familiar with SAP in user’s role

etc).
