Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Draftsman with specific expertise in FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading) projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural drafting and design, along with extensive knowledge of FPSO construction and engineering practices. The Structural Draftsman will play a crucial role in producing accurate and detailed drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Responsibilities:
1. Produce high-quality structural drawings and models using computer-aided design (CAD) software, following project requirements and industry standards.
2. Collaborate with the engineering team to review and interpret project specifications, technical drawings, and design documents related to FPSO structures.
3. Create and modify 2D and 3D models of structural components, including hulls, decks, modules, supports, and other relevant parts.
4. Prepare accurate bill of materials (BOM) and assist in procurement activities by providing necessary information on structural components.
5. Coordinate with other draftsmen and engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, piping, etc.) to ensure interdisciplinary coordination and integration.
6. Ensure compliance with project schedules and deadlines, effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks to meet project milestones.
7. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve design issues, provide technical input, and optimize designs for cost and constructability.
8. Conduct quality checks and reviews on drafted drawings to ensure accuracy, adherence to standards, and consistency with project requirements.
9. Stay updated with industry standards, codes, and best practices related to structural drafting and FPSO construction.
10. Assist in the development and improvement of drafting standards, procedures, and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
1. Associate degree or equivalent certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
2. Extensive experience (5+ years) as a Structural Draftsman, with a focus on FPSO projects.
3. Proficient in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for 2D and 3D modeling.
4. Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, construction techniques, and materials commonly used in FPSO projects.
5. Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as ABS, DNV, API, and ISO, relevant to offshore structures and FPSOs.
6. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate and error-free drawings.
7. Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
8. Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to analyze complex design challenges and propose feasible solutions.
9. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
10. Familiarity with project management concepts and practices is an added advantage.
