Scope of work

JOB SUMMARY:

Our client have a set of framework to standardize their global work processes through which their asset management system is implemented across their operating facilities. As part of their efforts to continuously improve their asset framework and further elevate their process safety and asset integrity fundamentals, a new set of requirements have been introduced as part of their organizational continuous technical improvement. These new requirements will be implemented as part of a new project. You will be part of this asset/project team within Bureau Veritas Malaysia Sdn Bhd to implement the above on behalf of our client.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage the overall execution and coordination of the Instrument Integrity program, including site progress and site coordination between specialist vendors and terminal operations. This includes monitoring and tracking the schedule & progress of the overall project.

2. Collection, verification, production, or correction as needed, of Instrument Loop Diagrams for Safety Instrument Systems.

  • Collection, verification, production, or correction as needed, of Cause & Effect diagram (C&E) for Safety Instrument Systems.
  • Development of Safety Requirements Specification (SRS) for all safety instrumented functions including safety critical alarms, manual push buttons, earthing and F&G system.
  • Carry out site functional verification of C&E diagrams for all terminals.
  • Verification and gap assessment of Master Alarm Database (MAD).
  • Review and update global testing protocols/Production Resource Tools (PRT) applicable to instrumented SCE’s, confirm validity of terminal specific R&I plans with the help of S&I engineer.
  • Generate a list of findings with risk ranking sufficient to prioritize and address any discovered deficiencies.

3. Work with other engineers e.g. Senior Project Engineer, S&I Engineers, etc.

4. Familiarize with the client’s specifications & requirements.

5. Support on the continuous improvement of the project by providing internal expertise and change management leadership.

6. Work in close collaboration with the client, client’s appointed focal points, vendors, sun-contractors.

7. Attend meetings with client, vendors, sub-contractors, etc.

8. Support when required all activities of this technical continuous improvement project comprising of all the seven elements i.e. Process Safety/HAZOP, Safeguarding Memorandum, Functional Safety, Process Control Domain (PCD), Electrical Integrity, Minimum Technical Requirements (MTR) and Integrity Management System (IMS) etc.

9. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

10. Lead, manage, coordinate, assure and deliver all of the above till successful completion.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • 10 - 12 years’ experience preferably at least 7+ years in the Oil, Gas or Petrochemical industry. (Less number of years can be considered if you have the right skills)
  • Interpersonal, stakeholder skills are required
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information
  • Some project management experience would be advantageous
  • Ability to work with external parties (clients, vendors, sub-contractors, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a confident, self-directed manner prioritizing a high volume of work.
  • Minimum support from home office, therefore must be fairly independent
  • Experienced in the usage of international codes and standards including major oil operator’s standards & specifications.
  • Fluency (both written and oral) in English is essential
  • Experienced in functional safety knowledge of a process facility (instruments & control)
  • Experienced in asset management.
