Instrument Designer

Overview

Prepare detailed design drawings and documents, ensuring compliance with standards and project deadlines, while coordinating with internal and external teams.

Scope of work

• Prepare Instrument design drawings and drafting deliverables under the guidance of the Lead Designer/Senior Designer.
• Produce detailed design drawings and documents according to project requirements.
• Ensure assigned deliverables are completed within allocated hours and agreed schedules.
• Ensure drawings comply with client drafting standards, project specifications, and company procedures.
• Ensure discipline deliverables follow engineering and drafting best practices.
• Coordinate effectively with Instrument Engineers, Engineering Leads, Design Coordinator, Lead Designer, Senior Designer, and other disciplines.
• Maintain good working relationships with internal teams and client representatives.
• Follow department checking, review, and approval procedures.
• Maintain the project discipline filing system according to company procedures.
• Manage assigned tasks in line with departmental and company performance standards.
• Perform drafting checks as directed.
• Support and guide junior members of the design team when required.
• Identify opportunities to improve drafting practices, processes, and techniques.

Key requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in relevant Drafting Discipline
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD
• Minimum 8 years overall experience with 6 years in onshore/offshore Oil and Gas industry
