I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and currently working as a Project Engineer at OAG Group of Companies, a field joint coating specialist in the oil and gas industry. I have hands-on experience managing offshore project scopes from the office, particularly involving field joint coating for subsea pipelines, including PQT (procedure qualification testing), project controls, documentation, logistics coordination, and contractor/vendor management. I am familiar with offshore project documentation such as inspection test plans, quality incident reports, non-compliance reports, change orders, equipment maintenance records, and load testing procedures. I have also supported material tracking, container arrangements, and shipping documentation including commercial invoices and gate passes. I am a detail-oriented and proactive engineer with a strong foundation in offshore project execution standards (DNV, ISO), risk assessment, and HSE procedures. I am highly motivated to expand my career into marine and offshore construction scopes such as mooring system installations and riser replacements. I have fifteen (15) years of working experience in the oil and gas industry dealing primarily with offshore/subsea based projects. I started off as a Pipeline Design Engineer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and has gained experience in technical and analytical scopes specializing in rigid pipelines, risers and expansion spool systems design. During my first four (4) years in Malaysia, I have worked on projects based in Malaysia, India, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Australia, through project phases ranging from conceptual/feasibility studies and FEED to detailed design and installation support. I moved to Perth, Australia to fill up a Subsea Engineer role in 2011. Since then, my job scope has extended to include Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) and my focus shifted towards flexible risers, moorings, and umbilical design as well as drilling and wells related projects. The jobs I have worked on while in Perth include projects within Australia and others in Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Scotland, Uruguay, Azerbaijan, and Brazil. My rather simple goal would be to contribute as much to the industry as I would wish to be reimbursed in terms of job satisfaction and, of course, matching wages, and to maintain an unscathed reputation!
