Role Overview
The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector acts as the technical authority for all E&I scope at an onshore LNG terminal project in Germany. This is a site-based inspection and surveillance role focused on protecting the Owner’s interests through independent oversight of EPC contractor activities during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
The role is not a design or hands-on commissioning execution position. It is an owner/PMC-side role with a strong emphasis on instrumentation, control systems, SIS, and Fire & Gas systems, supported by LV/MV electrical oversight. The position ensures full compliance with project specifications, international standards, and German regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as representative for E&I scope, providing independent inspection, surveillance, and technical oversight.
- Monitor EPC contractor compliance with project specifications, IEC/NEC standards, and German regulations (VDE, ATEX/IECEx).
- Review and comment on method statements, inspection & test plans (ITPs), RFIs, and technical deviations.
- Conduct regular site inspections covering: Instrument installation and hook-up, Cable trays, cable pulling, glanding, and terminations, MCCs, switchgear, and LV/MV electrical systems
- Witness and verify critical testing activities including continuity tests, insulation resistance, loop checks, and functional tests.
