Role Overview

As a Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical & Process Utilities), you will be responsible for executing all mechanical and utilities commissioning activities for the FLNG project during the yard execution and offshore start-up phases. You will ensure that all mechanical systems—covering rotating equipment, static equipment, and process utility packages—are tested, validated, and made ready for safe start-up and operations.

This role works closely with construction, process, E&I, structural, vendors, and the commissioning integration team to deliver system completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover in accordance with project requirements and class standards (DNV/BV/ABS).

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical & Utilities Commissioning Execution

• Carry out pre-commissioning and commissioning of mechanical and utility systems: seawater lift, cooling water, nitrogen, instrument air, diesel, potable water, open/closed drain, HVAC, and firewater systems.
• Perform system walkdowns, verify installation completeness, and manage punch lists (A/B categories) until mechanical completion.
• Execute flushing, blowing, hydrotesting verification, leak tests, reinstatement checks, and system preservation activities.
• Conduct alignment checks, solo runs, function tests, and load tests for rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, blowers, fans).

System Completion & Documentation

• Work within the completions management system (ICAPS / WinPCS / MCPlus or equivalent) to track MC, PC, and commissioning progress.
• Ensure all procedures, check sheets, and commissioning dossiers are completed, signed off, and properly documented for system handover.
• Support engineering in resolving design or installation non-conformances.

Vendor & Interface Coordination

• Coordinate vendor representatives for package start-ups, FAT/SAT witness, troubleshooting, and commissioning support.
• Interface closely with construction, process, E&I, marine, and HSE teams to resolve technical and schedule issues.
• Support integrated commissioning activities in collaboration with the commissioning integration team.

Start-Up Readiness

• Assist the process and operations team in preparing systems for RFO/RFSU (Ready for Operations/Ready for Start-Up).
• Participate in cause-and-effect validation, functional testing, and system energisation sequences related to mechanical utilities.
• Ensure all work is executed safely and in compliance with project procedures and class requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5–10 years of commissioning experience on FPSO, FLNG, gas plant, refinery, or major offshore utility systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical utilities: nitrogen, IA/DA, CW, SW, diesel, HVAC, firewater, open/closed drains.
• Hands-on experience with rotating equipment commissioning (alignment, solo runs, vibration monitoring).
• Familiarity with completions management systems (ICAPS/MCPlus/WinPCS) and system handover processes.
• Experience working in fabrication yards (China/Singapore/Korea) or offshore commissioning environments is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, PFDs, datasheets, ITPs, and vendor manuals.
• Strong HSE mindset and ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline, multicultural team.
• Mandarin proficiency is an advantage due to vendor and yard interfaces.

Job Responsibilities:

• Topside Module Piping Lead: Play the Module Piping Lead role to manage the schedule, quality and all relevant aspects to ensure the design progress as per the schedule and with high quality. Liaise with other engineering disciplines ( e.g., process, mechanical, structural, electrical) to ensure integration of piping systems with other plant components, resolve interdisciplinary conflicts, and maintain design consistency throughout the project life-cycle.
• Piping Stress Analysis Review & Checking: Review piping stress analysis reports to validate the accuracy of load calculations (thermal, pressure, deadweight, seismic), stress levels, and support designs. Ensure compliance with code allowable stresses, flange leakage criteria, and equipment nozzle load limits (e.g., pumps, compressors, vessels). Identify and address potential issues such as excessive stress, inadequate flexibility, or overloading of supports.
• Plot Plan Review & Checking: Examine the overall plot plan to verify the optimal placement of equipment, piping systems, and utility lines, considering factors such as process flow efficiency, safety clearances (e.g., fire protection, explosion limits), maintenance access, and future expansion potential. Ensure alignment with project layout standards and regulatory requirements.
• Module Layout & Piping Routing Review (2D & 3D): Oversee the review of individual module layout arrangements, including pipe routing, valve orientation, and equipment placement, in both 2D drawings and 3D models. Each engineer will be assigned responsibility for 2–3 Topside modules. Key checks include: oPipe Routing: Ensure routes are shortest and most direct while avoiding obstacles, maintaining required clearances, and minimizing pressure drops.
• oValve Access & Orientation: Verify valves are positioned for safe and easy op eration, with handles/actuators accessible (e.g., adequate headroom, reachability) and oriented to prevent interference with other components. o3D Model Accuracy: Validate 3D model integrity, including clash detection (no interference between piping, structural elements, electrical systems, or equipment), correct pipe dimensions, and adherence to layout standards.
• Material Handling Plan Support: Assist in modifying and optimizing the general material handling plan during the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) phase. This includes advising on material storage, transportation, and logistics to ensure the timely availability of piping materials, reduce construction delays, and minimize costs while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• 3D Model Review Coordination: Support the preparation and execution of 30%, 60%, and 90% 3D model reviews. This involves coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation), preparing review checklists, documenting comments, and tracking resolution of issues to ensure the model progresses according to schedule and meets project requirements.
• Workshop & Meeting Participation: Attend 3D model review workshops (refer to section 5.0 for detailed workshop agendas) to discuss layout issues, resolve clashes, and align on design decisions. Additionally, participate in weekly discipline meetings with the COMPANY (client) to provide project updates, address queries, and coordinate on design priorities or changes.

Role Summary

Responsible for delivering mechanical engineering support for static equipment and packaged systems during design, construction, integration, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning phases. Ensures all mechanical systems meet project specifications, vendor requirements and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, filters, columns, separators, etc.).
• Oversee package equipment such as compressors, pumps, generators, water treatment packages, nitrogen systems, HVAC, instrument air, firewater pumps, etc.
• Review and verify vendor documentation, data sheets, GA drawings, P&IDs, equipment lists and interface registers.
• Support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning of static and package systems.
• Lead troubleshooting, site queries, NCRs and technical deviations related to mechanical equipment.
• Conduct equipment inspections, FAT/SAT witness, preservation checks and vendor coordination.

Requirements

• 10–15+ years experience in mechanical engineering for offshore oil & gas, FPSO or FLNG projects.
• Strong background in static equipment design, fabrication, inspection and commissioning.
• Experience handling and coordinating package equipment vendors.
• Familiar with ASME VIII, API 610/617, ISO standards and typical EPCIC specifications.
• Competent in reviewing P&IDs, isometrics, equipment drawings, material selection and mechanical data sheets.
• Good understanding of installation tolerances, alignment, torquing, hydrotest procedures and preservation requirements.
• Experience in yard-based construction and integration (China/Korea/Singapore ideal).
• Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Valid BOSIET/FOET, offshore medical and fitness.

JOB PURPOSE

• Yard commissioning experience (China/Korea/Singapore preferred but not mandatory).
• Familiar with CMS platforms such as ICAPS, WinPCS or equivalent.

Role Overview

The Senior Topside Structural Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality, integrity, and timely completion of topside structural works at the fabrication yard. This role involves direct engagement with contractors, design teams, and internal engineering disciplines to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, codes, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate topside structural fabrication, assembly, and loadout activities.
