Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to spearhead our expansion in the Malaysian market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development within the energy sector, a passion for mentoring young professionals, and a strategic mindset for regional growth. This role will initially focus on developing the Malaysian market and training young BD professionals, with the potential to expand responsibilities across the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Market Development:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Malaysian energy sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry influencers.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve market penetration and revenue growth.
  1. Training and Mentoring:
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of young Business Development professionals.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and success.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the BD team.
  1. Regional Expansion:
  • After establishing a strong presence in Malaysia, develop strategies for expanding into other APAC markets.
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities and challenges in new regions.
  • Lead business development initiatives in targeted APAC countries, leveraging local insights and networks.
  1. Client Engagement:
  • Understand client needs and tailor Trees Engineering's offerings to meet their specific requirements.
  • Negotiate and close deals with a focus on long-term client relationships and repeat business.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through regular follow-ups and exceptional service delivery.
  1. Performance Monitoring:
  • Track and report on key performance metrics, including sales targets, market share, and team performance.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on business development activities and results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development within the energy sector, preferably in the APAC region.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in training and mentoring teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute market expansion plans.
  • Familiarity with the energy industry landscape in Malaysia and the broader APAC region.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
