Role Summary
Responsible for delivering mechanical engineering support for static equipment and packaged systems during design, construction, integration, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning phases. Ensures all mechanical systems meet project specifications, vendor requirements and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, filters, columns, separators, etc.).
- Oversee package equipment such as compressors, pumps, generators, water treatment packages, nitrogen systems, HVAC, instrument air, firewater pumps, etc.
- Review and verify vendor documentation, data sheets, GA drawings, P&IDs, equipment lists and interface registers.
- Support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning of static and package systems.
- Lead troubleshooting, site queries, NCRs and technical deviations related to mechanical equipment.
- Conduct equipment inspections, FAT/SAT witness, preservation checks and vendor coordination.
- Ensure correct installation, alignment, hydrotesting, leak testing and readiness for commissioning.
- Review method statements, construction procedures and lifting/installation plans.
- Ensure all equipment complies with ASME, API, ISO, client specs and class requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, HSE and procurement teams.
- Support punch listing and closure, ensuring system readiness for handover.
- Provide technical inputs for interface resolution between static equipment, packages and other disciplines.
Requirements
- 10–15+ years experience in mechanical engineering for offshore oil & gas, FPSO or FLNG projects.
- Strong background in static equipment design, fabrication, inspection and commissioning.
- Experience handling and coordinating package equipment vendors.
- Familiar with ASME VIII, API 610/617, ISO standards and typical EPCIC specifications.
- Competent in reviewing P&IDs, isometrics, equipment drawings, material selection and mechanical data sheets.
- Good understanding of installation tolerances, alignment, torquing, hydrotest procedures and preservation requirements.
- Experience in yard-based construction and integration (China/Korea/Singapore ideal).
- Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Valid BOSIET/FOET, offshore medical and fitness.
- OGSP/H2S Awareness is an advantage.
