Job Title: Construction Engineer (Shipbuilding Experience)

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Construction Engineer with a strong background in shipbuilding to join a collaborative team overseeing the construction and fabrication of a Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) new build. The successful candidate will work as part of a comprehensive surveillance team, ensuring that the construction process adheres to the project schedule, quality standards, and safety protocols.


Key Responsibilities:

 Serve as a full-time onsite engineer within a joint surveillance team comprising COMPANY and CONTRACTOR engineers.

 Supervise all aspects of shipyard construction activities, ensuring compliance with scope of work, project specifications, and quality standards.

 Collaborate with COMPANY and CONTRACTOR stakeholders to develop a comprehensive list of surveillance activities based on the FSO project schedule.

 Prepare and maintain Surveillance Check Sheets to verify that fabrication and construction activities align with project requirements and specifications.

 Support the identification, communication, and resolution of potential issues to maintain the integrity of the FSO project schedule.

 Attend risk assessments, toolbox talks, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) walkdowns, and meetings as required by the COMPANY.

 Actively engage in ensuring compliance with HSE standards, fostering a culture of safety and accountability on-site.


Experience and Qualifications:

 Minimum of 10+ years of experience in shipbuilding or related construction projects, with specific expertise in oil and gas projects (FSO or FPSO preferred).

 Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and oversee shipyard activities from start to finish.

 Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese to facilitate effective communication with local and international teams.

 Experience developing and using Surveillance Check Sheets or equivalent quality assurance documentation.


Skills and Tools:

 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).  Strong knowledge of construction standards, marine discipline engineering practices, and shipyard operations.

 Familiarity with risk assessment processes, HSE protocols, and quality assurance in shipyard environments.
