About the Job
The Head of Re-refining will be responsible in leading and overseeing all aspects of the re-refinery operations and processes, ensuring optimal operation, efficient and compliant processing of products in adherence to safety protocols. It is paramount of the role to implement measures to optimize re-refining performance, maximizing output and minimizing downtime.
JOB DESCRIPTION
a) Operational Leadership;
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the re-refinery operations team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of re-refinery operations, including raw material intake, processing, and product output and distribution.
- Lead the production plant and re-refining processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production schedules.
b) Team Management;
- Recruit, train and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback and coaching, and conduct performance evaluations to drive continuous improvement.
c) Quality Assurance and Compliance;
- Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure the consistent production of high-quality re-refined products.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, permits and licenses.
d) Process Optimisation;
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements, implementing changes to enhance plant performance and productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
e) Troubleshooting;
- Investigate and resolve operational issues and challenges, minimizing downtime and production disruptions.
- Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring problems.
f) Budgeting and Cost Management;
- Develop and manage the re-refinery operating budget, ensuring effective cost control and resource allocation.
- Monitor financial performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve budget targets and operational goals.
g) Documentation;
- Maintain detailed documentation of processes, changes, and improvements.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
h) Quality Control;
- Monitor and enhance product quality through continuous process monitoring and adjustments.
- Implement quality control measures to meet product specifications.
i) Environmental Impact;
- Assess and mitigate the environmental impact of production processes.
- Identify opportunities for sustainable practices and waste reduction.
j) Continuous Learning;
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in process engineering.
- Participate in professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Other Assignments;
- To assist with any related tasks, projects, and other assigned duties as and when deemed necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Min Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical), Engineering (Industrial), Engineering (Petroleum) or equivalent.
- Min 10 years of plant operations in a petrochemical field would be ideal for this position.
- In-depth knowledge of re-refinery operations, including process design, equipment maintenance, and product quality control.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Solid understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations and best practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven track record of managing budgets, controlling costs, and achieving financial targets.
- Willing to travel to branches, HQ and plants.
