Role Overview
The Senior Operations Engineer provides technical and operational support to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production across offshore assets. The role acts as a key interface between onshore operations, offshore teams, and contractors to deliver production and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational engineering support to offshore production facilities.
- Monitor and optimise production performance, ensuring delivery against targets.
- Review and implement operating procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards, PSC requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
- Coordinate with offshore teams and contractors for safe execution of operations, maintenance, and modification activities.
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions for operational issues.
- Support asset integrity, reliability, and efficiency through proactive planning and optimisation.
- Prepare operational reports, KPIs, and recommendations for management review.
- Act as focal point for HSE assurance in operations, embedding a culture of safety and compliance.
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers and offshore staff.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or equivalent).
- 10 - 25 years experience in upstream oil & gas operations.
- Minimum 8 years client/operator-side experience with strong exposure to production operations.
- Proven track record supporting offshore facilities (FPSO, platforms, subsea).
- Demonstrated capability in operational troubleshooting, optimisation, and contractor management.
- Strong understanding of upstream standards, PSC requirements, and Malaysian regulatory compliance.
- High commitment to HSE, operational governance, and asset integrity.
