Scope of Work

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer with more than 7 years of experience, including offshore and design exposure, to join an onshore/brownfield gas development project in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The role will provide engineering expertise for instrumentation systems and ensure the smooth execution of the project. The position is a direct contract with our client, with a start date in January 2025, and offers long-term opportunities.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise instrumentation engineering activities on-site for onshore/brownfield gas development projects.
  • Ensure the design and installation of instrumentation systems are in line with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and resolve issues related to instrumentation design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Review and approve instrumentation design documents, including P&IDs, loop diagrams, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and industry standards during instrumentation installation and testing.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of instrumentation systems into the overall project design.
  • Perform field inspections and audits to ensure quality control of instrumentation systems during installation.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and field staff.
  • Ensure proper documentation of instrumentation design changes, modifications, and test results.
  • Participate in risk assessments, safety audits, and troubleshooting processes related to instrumentation systems.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • More than 7 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, including offshore and design exposure.
  • Proven experience in onshore/brownfield gas development projects.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, design, and installation procedures.
  • Experience in reviewing and interpreting design documents such as P&IDs, loop diagrams, and specifications.
  • Solid understanding of industry standards and HSE regulations related to instrumentation engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage and resolve field issues effectively.
  • Willingness to be based in South Sumatra, Indonesia, for the duration of the project.
