We are seeking an experienced Lead Structural Engineer to support a major offshore energy project.
This is a short-term role requiring strong technical leadership in offshore structural design, analysis, and coordination during engineering and execution phases.
Assignment Details:
- Position: Lead Structural Engineer
- Location: China (project office/site)
- Duration: 4 months
- Visa & Support: All visa arrangements, travel, and local support will be provided
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate structural engineering activities for offshore topsides, jackets, and subsea structures.
- Review and approve structural design calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.
- Provide technical input across FEED, detailed design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and offshore hook-up phases.
- Ensure compliance with international design codes (API RP2A, AISC, ISO, DNV, etc.) and project specifications.
- Act as focal point for structural engineering queries and technical clarifications with vendors and EPC contractors.
- Support fabrication, load-out, transportation, and offshore installation reviews.
- Collaborate with process, mechanical, piping, and other disciplines to resolve multi-disciplinary interface issues.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 12–15 years’ experience in structural engineering for offshore oil & gas projects.
- Background: Proven track record in lead or senior roles on offshore fixed platforms (jackets, topsides) and/or floating structures.
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (API RP2A, AISC, ISO, DNV, etc.).
- Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., SACS, STAAD.Pro, SESAM, etc.).
- Familiarity with fabrication and offshore installation methods.
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to mobilise on short notice for international assignment.
