Key Responsibilities
- Support the department in cost tracking, budget monitoring, and variance analysis (budget vs actual)
- Assist in preparing accurate cost reports and financial summaries for ongoing drilling and operations projects
- Perform cost accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations in line with project accounting standards
- Coordinate with internal departments for cost validation, procurement tracking, and reporting compliance
- Maintain clear and structured documentation of project financials, change orders, and cost adjustments
- Contribute to financial health checks and assist with forecast planning across multiple workstreams
Candidate Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in project accounting or cost control
- Proficient in basic accounting practices: journal entries, accruals, cost computation
- Skilled in MS Excel – intermediate to advanced level
- Experience with NAVA Procurement, NAVA R&T, or SunSystem is a plus (not mandatory)
- Background in oil & gas or drilling operations is preferred
- Ability to work independently on cost tracking and budget reporting tasks
Preferred
- Familiarity with upstream operations or drilling cost structures
- Able to collaborate across engineering, procurement, and finance departments
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to cost discrepancies
Notes
- This is a contract-based role, with the potential for extension based on project continuation
- Must be based in Malaysia and available for full-time, office-based work
