Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer specializing in Material Handling to join our team for a prestigious FPSO project in Kuala Lumpur. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in the energy industry, particularly within EPC projects, and will be adept at handling the complexities associated with material handling of skids.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and design efficient material handling systems specifically for skids used in FPSO projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Manage and oversee the material handling aspects of the FPSO project, ensuring that all activities are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, structural engineers, and procurement specialists, to ensure seamless integration of material handling systems.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design calculations, equipment specifications, and installation procedures, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accurately reflects the project requirements.
- Liaise with equipment vendors and suppliers to ensure the timely procurement and delivery of materials and components, adhering to the project timeline.
- Implement quality assurance processes and conduct inspections to ensure all material handling equipment and systems meet the specified standards and are fit for purpose.
- Identify and resolve any technical issues related to material handling systems, providing innovative solutions to improve efficiency and performance.
- Ensure all material handling activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications in material handling or project management would be advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the energy industry, specifically involving material handling systems for EPC projects. Prior experience with FPSO projects is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with industry-specific design and analysis tools. Strong understanding of material handling principles and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
