Our client is a leading international energy service provider, delivering end-to-end engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) solutions for complex offshore developments across the globe. As part of a high-profile offshore redevelopment project, the selected candidate will be seconded to a major engineering consultancy office in Singapore, working as part of the Project Management Consultant (PMC) team.
Role Summary
The Lead Instrument Engineer will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating all instrumentation and control engineering activities for this large-scale offshore project. This includes overseeing design integrity, technical compliance, and seamless integration of instrumentation systems across multiple project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the instrumentation discipline team and provide technical direction throughout FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Review and endorse discipline deliverables, ensuring alignment with project specifications, codes, and international standards.
- Interface with multidisciplinary engineering teams, PMC counterparts, EPC contractor, and client stakeholders to resolve technical matters efficiently.
- Oversee the development of control philosophies, instrument datasheets, I/O lists, cause & effect diagrams, and control narratives.
- Participate in HAZOP, SIL, 3D model, and constructability reviews.
- Monitor progress and support timely delivery of all instrumentation deliverables against schedule targets.
- Review vendor documentation and participate in FAT/SAT activities as required.
- Provide discipline support during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas industry, with strong EPCC/EPCIC project exposure.
- Proven track record in leading instrumentation engineering teams for major offshore or upstream projects.
- In-depth knowledge of international standards and regulatory frameworks relevant to instrumentation and control systems.
- Prior PMC experience is advantageous.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Willingness to be based in Singapore for the full duration of the assignment.
