About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Welding Engineer to support the engineering, fabrication, and construction of major Oil & Gas and Energy projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing welding engineering solutions, ensuring compliance with international standards, project specifications, and quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
This role requires strong technical expertise in welding engineering, metallurgy, fabrication, materials selection, inspection, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review welding philosophies, procedures, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
- Provide technical support for welding, fabrication, and materials engineering activities throughout project execution.
- Ensure welding designs and engineering deliverables comply with project requirements, international codes, and industry standards.
- Review welding procedures, qualification records, material specifications, and fabrication documentation.
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines, vendors, subcontractors, and fabrication yards to resolve technical issues.
- Support procurement activities through technical evaluations and vendor documentation reviews.
- Participate in inspection, testing, quality assurance, commissioning, and site engineering activities.
- Monitor engineering progress to ensure deliverables are completed within schedule and budget.
- Lead technical discussions, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify engineering risks and provide practical solutions to support safe and efficient project execution.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in welding engineering within the Oil & Gas, Offshore, EPC, or Energy industry.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, fabrication, and piping materials.
- Experience supporting engineering design, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Familiarity with international welding codes, fabrication standards, and quality requirements.
- Experience working with vendors, fabrication yards, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong analytical, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engineering activities within project schedules.
