Mission and Service DimensionsAs the FPSO Control System Area Lead, you will oversee all activities related to the Control System within the FPSO team, reporting directly to the FPSO Technical Manager. In collaboration with the ICSS Lead, you will:
- Assist with engineering and procurement activities for Control System equipment.
- Manage preparation and construction tasks related to equipment modularisation.
- Coordinate integration of modules onto the FPSO.
- Oversee pre-commissioning/onshore commissioning and offshore commissioning and start-up preparations.
Key Responsibilities
- HSE and EthicsExemplify and enforce H3SE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) standards.
- Promote adherence to Company Ethics and the "Code of Conduct," ensuring compliance with the Anti-Corruption Program.
Technical and Project Management
- Ensure alignment with FPSO-related Company Rules, Project Particular Specifications, and international standards.
- Coordinate engineering development by contractors and vendors with the ICSS Lead.
- Oversee timely procurement and expediting of equipment from vendors and sub-vendors.
- Liaise with QA/QC leads to ensure compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Monitor and manage construction, integration, and commissioning activities, including:
- Ensuring contractor compliance with contractual requirements, procedures, and specifications.
- Reviewing and commenting on construction deliverables and procedures.
- Preparing and overseeing pre-commissioning and commissioning tasks.
- Addressing technical issues and ensuring prompt resolution.
- Maintain robust communication with contractors, conducting regular technical meetings to address progress and provide guidance.
Risk and Interface Management
- Anticipate potential risks, participating in risk assessments and mitigation planning.
- Facilitate cross-discipline collaboration to optimise package/module designs and integration.
- Report progress, highlight technical issues, and recommend solutions to the FPSO Technical Manager.
Context and Environment
This role supports the development of a major project in Suriname, involving the deep and shallow-water discoveries of offshore Block 58. The Suriname GPI Project Team aims to maximise economic outcomes by optimising reserves, schedules, costs, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, all while upholding high H3SE standards.
Position Details
- Start Date: 1 February 2025 (anticipated duration: 3–4 years).
- Location: Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), China (Shanghai), and other sites as required.
- Status: Residential.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Degree in Automation or IT Engineering.
- Languages: Fluency in English; knowledge of Chinese and French preferred.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 15 years, with at least 10 years in project environments.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in technical management and Excel.
