1. Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Operations Engineer to support offshore production operations for brownfield oil and gas assets. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role acts as the key link between the onshore office and offshore FPSO/platform teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.
This is a hands-on operations role focused on troubleshooting, production optimisation, and day-to-day operational support.
2. Key Responsibilities
● Monitor daily production performance and identify issues early
● Troubleshoot operational problems (equipment, wells, process systems)
● Coordinate offshore activities including maintenance and modifications
● Ensure compliance with Petronas PSC, MPM, and company standards
● Support asset integrity, reliability, and uptime
● Prepare operational reports and performance summaries
● Act as onshore HSE focal point for operations
● Provide guidance and support to junior engineers
3. Requirements
● Minimum 12 years oil and gas experience
● Minimum 3 years operator-side experience (mandatory)
● Experience supporting offshore production operations (FPSO/platform)
● Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving experience
● Exposure to brownfield or late-life assets
● Familiar with Petronas / PSC / MPM requirements

● Strong understanding of offshore production systems (wells, process, utilities)
● Ability to work in a lean, fast-paced environment
● Good communication with offshore teams and contractors
● High ownership and accountability in operations
5. Employment Details
● Contract Type: Direct Hire (1-year renewable)
● Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
● Start Date: Flexible (up to 2–3 months’ notice acceptable)
