Scope of Work

Job Description

  • Oversee and manage all drilling, workover, and plug & abandonment (P&A) operations to ensure activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the approved drilling programme.
  • Ensure strict adherence to drilling parameters, well control procedures, company operating standards, and standing instructions.
  • Review, verify, and approve daily drilling reports, operational records, equipment status reports, and P&A progress logs.
  • Supervise, direct, and mentor Drillers, Assistant Drillers, and drilling crews in a conventional jack-up rig environment.
  • Conduct regular toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and pre-job risk assessments to ensure crew alignment and safety awareness.
  • Act as the main offshore point of contact between the drilling crew, marine team, OIM, and Company Man.
  • Ensure the rig remains in a state of operational readiness, including drilling systems, well control equipment, BOPs, top drive, mud pumps, and safety systems.
  • Coordinate closely with marine and maintenance teams during short rig moves, jacking-up and jacking-down operations, and proximity work around existing platforms.
  • Maintain strong awareness of leg penetration, punch-through, and re-penetration risks, particularly when operating in previously used locations.
  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures during drilling and P&A operations.
  • Lead incident investigations, safety drills, and risk assessments related to drilling, well control, and rig movement activities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all regulatory and client HSE requirements.
  • Coordinate logistics related to drilling operations, including tools, consumables, materials, and personnel movements.
  • Interface with service providers and onshore support teams to ensure smooth execution of drilling and P&A activities.
  • Ensure all well control equipment is properly maintained, tested, and ready for use.
  • Supervise and lead well control situations, ensuring correct procedures are followed at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of drilling operations, crew rosters, equipment utilisation, and material consumption.

Qualification

  • Valid IWCF Certificate in Drilling – Supervisor Level 4 (mandatory).
  • Minimum ten (10) years of offshore drilling experience, with at least three (3) to five (5) years in a Toolpusher or Senior Drilling Supervisor role.
  • Strong background in jack-up rig operations, preferably supporting or leading P&A or well intervention campaigns.
  • Proven experience working on conventional jack-up rigs (non-automated / handbrake systems; not cyber or fully automated rigs).
  • Solid understanding of drilling operations, well control practices, safety procedures, and rig equipment.
  • Familiarity with frequent short rig moves, jacking operations, and coordination with marine teams during high-tempo campaigns.
  • Awareness of seabed conditions, footprint re-use, and associated punch-through or rapid penetration risks.
  • Valid BOSIET / HUET, Offshore Medical, and other mandatory offshore certifications.
