About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Coating Engineer to support the engineering, design, and execution of coating and corrosion protection systems for offshore and onshore energy projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective coating solutions while ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and industry best practices.
This role requires strong technical expertise in protective coatings, corrosion control, passive fire protection, vendor coordination, and multidisciplinary engineering throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review coating and corrosion protection philosophies, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
- Select appropriate coating systems and application methods based on project requirements and operating environments.
- Ensure engineering designs comply with international codes, industry standards, and project specifications.
- Perform coating engineering calculations, technical evaluations, and design reviews.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless integration across project interfaces.
- Review vendor documentation and provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, and construction phases.
- Monitor engineering progress to ensure deliverables are completed within project schedule and budget.
- Support inspection, testing, commissioning, and quality assurance activities related to coating systems.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in resolving technical issues throughout engineering and project execution.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in coating engineering within the Oil & Gas, Offshore, EPC, or Energy industry.
- Strong knowledge of protective coating systems, corrosion prevention, and material selection.
- Experience supporting engineering design, procurement, fabrication, and construction activities.
- Familiarity with international coating standards and industry best practices.
- Experience coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and planning skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engineering activities within project timelines.
