Scope of Work

About the Role

The Commercial Analyst examines revenue performance, operational costs, and overheads to identify opportunities that strengthen the organisation’s financial position. The role supports the Commercial Manager through economic evaluations, strategic analysis, and commercial reviews across upstream oil & gas operations. This position requires strong analytical capability, commercial awareness, and the ability to work across operations, finance, and management teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze company spending patterns, cost structures, and revenue streams to identify inefficiencies and irregularities.
  • Review commercial terms across agreements/contracts and highlight commercial risks or optimization opportunities.
  • Prepare financial models, forecasts, and scenarios to support strategic planning and project evaluation.
  • Provide input for annual budgeting, business planning, and financial performance reporting.
  • Recommend strategies to improve profitability and operational cost control.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Manager to deliver data-backed insights for decision-making.
  • Coordinate with Finance to streamline reporting processes and align cost, revenue, and forecasting workflows.
  • Support economic assessments related to PSC/RSC environments and upstream operational activities.


Requirements

  • 5–7 years experience in Oil & Gas, preferably Upstream, PSC/RSC, or O&G facility operations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (any field).
  • International exposure is an advantage.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and investigative skills.
  • Experience working with operations teams in oil & gas facilities.
  • Prior involvement in economic modelling or project evaluation.
  • Familiarity with commercial terms in upstream contracts.
  • Ability to interpret cost data and operational performance metrics.
