Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in centrifugal pumps to join our team in Kuala Lumpur for a 6-month contract. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and will act as the Project Engineer Representative (PRE) for API 610 pumps. This role involves overseeing the design, analysis, and implementation of centrifugal pump systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the design and selection of centrifugal pumps in accordance with API 610 standards.
- Conduct detailed mechanical analyses and provide engineering solutions for centrifugal pump systems.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and project teams to ensure project requirements and timelines are met.
- Review and approve technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to pump systems throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present technical reports and project documentation.
- Conduct performance assessments and troubleshoot issues related to pump operations.
- Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven expertise in centrifugal pumps, particularly API 610 pumps.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to pump design and analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to be based in Kuala Lumpur for the duration of the contract.
- Immediate availability or ability to start within a short notice period preferred.
