Scope of Work

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Analyzer Engineer (E&I) to support Operations & Maintenance activities in a gas processing facility. This role is critical in ensuring high reliability, integrity, and accuracy of online and laboratory analyzer systems during both project and operational phases.

The successful candidate will play a key role in pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and long-term operational reliability of analyzer systems.

Key Responsibilities

During Project Phase

  • Lead and implement Operations Readiness Plan (ORP) for online analyzers.
  • Support review of operability and maintainability documentation.
  • Coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and performance testing activities.
  • Ensure activities are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

During Operations Phase

  • Deliver high reliability and integrity of online analyzer systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies.
  • Support CMMS development including Equipment Criticality Assessment (ECA).
  • Develop KPI tracking and monthly progress reporting.
  • Coordinate and execute analyzer-related Turnaround (TA) activities.

Technical Scope

Responsible for preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of:

  • Gas Chromatographs (GC)
  • Oxygen, H₂S, moisture, sulfur, and hydrocarbon analyzers
  • pH, conductivity, TOC, and silica analyzers
  • Process gas and liquid analyzers
  • Analyzer Sample Conditioning Systems (SCS) and Sample Handling Systems (SHS)

Additional responsibilities:

  • Calibration and performance verification
  • Troubleshooting faults and performing root cause analysis
  • Managing Management of Change (MoC) documentation
  • Maintaining calibration logs, maintenance records, and technical documentation
  • Supervising vendor activities during specialized maintenance
  • Ensuring compliance with HSE, permit-to-work systems, and safety regulations
  • Safe handling of calibration gases and hazardous materials
  • Participation in audits, inspections, and incident investigations

Requirements

Education

  • Minimum D3 (Diploma) in technical discipline
  • Preferably Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Instrument / Physical Engineering

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry
  • At least 5 years’ experience as an Analyzer Engineer
  • Experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up is preferred

Technical Competencies

  • Strong understanding of Gas Chromatograph principles and chromatogram interpretation
  • Knowledge of NDIR analyzer systems
  • Knowledge of QCM moisture analyzers
  • Understanding of pH and conductivity measurement systems
  • Experience with Sample Handling System (SHS) and Sample Conditioning System (SCS) design/optimization
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID (Process & Analyzer systems)
  • Understanding of lag time sample calculation
  • Familiarity with ISO, API, ASTM, IEC, EPA standards and local regulations

Soft Skills

  • Strong process safety and personal safety awareness
  • Ability to lead and supervise maintenance teams and contractors
  • Strong reporting and presentation skills
  • Good written and spoken English
