Overview
An EPC contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the onshore construction phase of a tank terminal project located in Pengerang, Johor. The role will lead site construction execution, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications and EPC standards.
The position requires prior oil & gas project experience, specifically in tank terminal, storage facilities, or similar onshore infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all site construction activities for the tank terminal project.
- Manage and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and discipline supervisors (civil, structural, mechanical, piping, E&I).
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, project procedures, and EPC contractor requirements.
- Oversee construction planning, sequencing, and resource allocation to maintain project schedule.
- Interface with engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams to ensure constructability and timely execution.
- Monitor progress against project milestones and implement corrective actions when required.
- Manage site reporting, including daily progress reports, construction KPIs, and issue logs.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Support construction completion, mechanical completion, and handover activities.
Requirements
- Malaysian nationality or EP in Malaysia
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 10–15 years of construction experience in oil & gas projects.
- Proven experience as Construction Manager on EPC projects, preferably tank terminal, storage tanks, refinery, petrochemical, or similar onshore facilities.
- Strong understanding of EPC project execution, construction sequencing, and site management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-discipline construction teams and subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of HSE requirements in oil & gas construction environments.
- Experience working on projects in Malaysia or Southeast Asia preferred.
Contract Details
- Location: Site-based role in Pengerang, Johor.
- Mobilization: Early May 2026.
- Contract Duration: 18–24 months.
- Employment Type: Contract through EPC contractor.
Preferred Experience
- Tank terminal or large atmospheric storage tank construction.
- Terminal piping, loading/unloading systems, and associated utilities.
- Experience working in Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) or similar large industrial hubs.
