Scope of work
Preform professional engineering work involving considerable independence in approach, demanding considerable degree of originality, ingenuity and judgement, knowledge and expertise in Rotating & stationary and Rotating equipment.
Responsible for the design, review, and verification of engineering on assigned projects to ensure safe, reliable, and fit for purpose design.
Coordination of specified tasks within the engineering disciplines and ensure that rotating & rotating & stationary Engineering are aligned with all disciplines Responsible for the progress and quality of assigned tasks within the discipline area, including the supervision and development of engineers, designers and graduates.
Develop and maintain a quality design threshold for the discipline through use of understandable quality procedures.
Engineer all design work in line with the QA manual and procedures.
Specific accountabilities:
- Provision of expert input to detailed design, basic engineering and conceptual engineering related to rotating & stationary equipment.
- Industry best practices into the engineering design.
- Demonstrate expertise in Software based design, modelling and review of rotating & stationary equipment design Review and approval of the project design related to rotating & stationary part of process design package for DBSP, FEED and detailed design phase, calculations, stress analysis of critical equipment; review of heat exchanger thermal design and implementation in Mechanical design.
- Liaison with other discipline Principal engineers on technical issues and engineering matters.
- Provide expert advice and support to the relevant Chief Engineer.
- Participate as mentor for other graduates and engineers relevant to the discipline.
- Development and improvement of company standards and design methods.
- Managing rotating & stationary engineers and designer's utilization and productivity Engineering estimates for new projects and associated with ongoing projects change management Quality Assurance - Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system Safety
- Responsible for personal safety safe working practices.
- Provide advice or guidance to resolve complex, ambiguous or special cases not adequately covered by design guides.
- Application of knowledge to add value Ability to determine the advantages and disadvantages and relative costs of alternative design concepts and establish preferred concepts.
- Understanding and implementation of engineering and design process Understanding of design deliverables required for Conceptual, FEED and Detailed Design, establishing appropriate level of detail and checking required for each phase.
- Equipment design, specification and procurement activities Correctly select materials for different services, environments and applications.
- Competently review and comment on vendor data for a wide range of equipment and packages and, demonstrate the ability to plan and implement design activities to allow timely availability of and incorporation of vendor information into the design.
- Designs for constructability, commissioning, operations and maintenance Obtained at least 12 months of construction and or commissioning site experience General Competently prepare proposals and reports, schedule and plan work effectively and, consistently complete work within budgeted hours.
- Managing work, planning and organisation Proactive approach in managing design activities to reduce overall project costs and durations Essential skills/experience Experience in a supervisory position and demonstrated performance as a team leader.
- Familiar with related codes and have a good working knowledge of the latest design codes and standards and analytical techniques used in the industry.
Contract length: 8 Months (Renewable)
