Ahmad Hanafi bin Mohamed Nor is a focused and adaptable Field Engineer (Mudlogger) with proven experience in real-time drilling surveillance, real-time geological monitoring, and offshore operations across Southeast Asia. Currently serving with GEOLOG International, he has contributed to both exploration and development wells in Malaysia, Thailand, and Papua New Guinea.
Hanafi has been directly involved in high-pressure well environments, where he successfully detected formation kicks and fluid losses, and continued providing real-time support during well control situations. His ability to remain precise and calm under pressure has supported the drilling team’s quick response and operational safety.
He has also played a role in high-efficiency batch drilling campaigns, such as a multi-well offshore project in the Gulf of Thailand, contributing to its successful completion within a tight timeline. His responsibilities span cuttings analysis, parameter monitoring, well log preparation, HSE compliance, and supporting rig-up, rig-down, and equipment readiness at supply bases.
With a strong academic foundation in Applied Geology (Universiti Malaya) and an analytical mindset, Hanafi is passionate about continuous technical growth. He is currently exploring long-term career pathways in operations geology, upstream geoscience, and R&D roles within operator companies.
