About
Nazirul has 7 years of experience spanning EPC contract execution, piping design, and
maintenance in both downstream and upstream sectors, with a growing focus on
offshore projects.
He began his career in 2018 as an Equipment Engineer at Petrochemical Malaysia (Idemitsu)
Sdn Bhd, a polystyrene manufacturer based in Pasir Gudang, where he gained hands-on
experience in the maintenance of rotating and static equipment.
In November 2021, Nazirul transitioned into engineering design as a Piping Engineer at
Dialog E&C. In this role, he developed piping systems for petrochemical plants and became
well-versed in international codes and standards, including ASME B31 series for piping
design, ASTM for material specifications, and API standards for valves and equipment.
To further diversify his expertise, Nazirul joined PETRONAS, where he expanded into the
upstream offshore domain. His scope included Basic Engineering Design for wellhead
platforms, in addition to Asset Integrity Assessments for offshore facilities. He applied API
RP 574 and API 571 to evaluate remaining life and identify damage mechanisms in offshore
piping systems, supporting the extension of asset service life.
