Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead/Specialist Instrumentation Engineer to join our team for an FPSO Suriname project. This one-year contract position requires an expert with 11-15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically with offshore projects. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing instrumentation engineering activities throughout the project phase, ensuring all deliverables are met with the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the instrumentation engineering team in the design, development, and implementation of FPSO projects.
- Develop detailed engineering specifications, datasheets, and design calculations for instrumentation systems.
- Ensure all instrumentation engineering activities comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance on instrumentation design, installation, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of instrumentation systems with other project components.
- Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for instrumentation-related issues.
- Review and approve instrumentation drawings, documents, and vendor data.
- Support procurement activities by preparing technical specifications and evaluating supplier proposals.
- Oversee the installation, calibration, and testing of instrumentation equipment.
- Provide technical support during the construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical training as needed.
- Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and technical discussions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation-related problems during project execution.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 11-15 years of experience in instrumentation engineering within the FPSO, oil and gas, and offshore sectors.
- Proven track record in leading instrumentation engineering teams and managing complex projects.
- In-depth knowledge of instrumentation systems, standards, and best practices in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in using engineering design software and tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team environment.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as IEC, ISA, and API.
- Willingness to be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the duration of the project.
- Ability to start immediately or within a short notice period is preferred.
