Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Offshore Structural Engineer to join our esteemed oil and gas company for a prestigious project in Bangkok, Thailand. The successful candidate will lead the structural engineering section and provide technical expertise in offshore structural engineering for FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading), FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas), and EPC/EPCIC projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed structural design and analysis for offshore structures, including jackets, topsides, and subsea systems.
- Utilize advanced engineering software to conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and ensure the structural integrity and stability of offshore installations.
- Lead and manage engineering tasks for offshore projects from conception through to completion, ensuring all deliverables are met within the project timeline and budget.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including marine, process, and electrical engineers to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure all structural designs comply with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ISO, DNV).
- Perform regular audits and reviews of design processes to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding structural engineering matters.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and review detailed engineering reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and meets client requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for structural engineering activities.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols to ensure the well-being of the project team and the integrity of the offshore structures.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering environment.
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in offshore structural engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Extensive experience in FPSO, FLNG, and EPC/EPCIC projects is essential.
- Proficiency in structural design and analysis software (e.g., SACS, STAAD.Pro, ANSYS).
- Strong understanding of offshore engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex structural engineering projects.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and safety.
