Job Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer to oversee and guide process engineering activities for FPSO and other Oil & Gas projects. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in process engineering, with a strong background in the FPSO sector. This role involves leading process design activities, performing complex engineering calculations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage process engineering activities for FPSO and other Oil & Gas projects.
- Develop, review, and approve Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and other process engineering documentation.
- Conduct and oversee process simulations, heat and material balances, and hydraulic calculations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and supervision to junior engineers and process engineering teams.
- Lead and support HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and risk assessment studies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success and integration of process designs.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare and review specifications and datasheets for process equipment, utility systems, and ETP systems.
- Coordinate with vendors for the selection of process equipment and technical evaluation of vendor proposals.
- Ensure that process engineering deliverables adhere to project schedules and budgets.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis to improve process safety and reliability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in Process Engineering, with significant experience in FPSO projects.
- Proficiency in process simulation tools (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PRO/II).
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards (API, ASME, IEC, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
- Experience in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with process design and optimization for large-scale manufacturing.
- Familiarity with process safety and risk management programs.
- Ability to travel offshore as required.
Software Proficiency:
- Process simulation tools (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PRO/II).
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
