Job Purpose: The Senior HSE (Drilling Operations) is responsible for overseeing Health, Safety, and Environmental aspects of drilling activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards. This role involves developing HSE policies, conducting risk assessments, and leading safety initiatives to promote a culture of safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- HSE Policy Development: Formulate and implement comprehensive HSE policies and procedures specific to drilling operations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all drilling activities comply with local and international HSE regulations and standards.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues and implement corrective actions.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into HSE incidents, determine root causes, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Training & Development: Design and deliver HSE training programs to enhance awareness and competency among drilling personnel.
- Emergency Response Planning: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for potential drilling emergencies.
- Contractor Management: Evaluate and monitor HSE performance of contractors, ensuring alignment with company standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous HSE improvement through regular audits, feedback, and implementation of best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in HSE, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a drilling HSE specialist role.
- Certifications: Recognized HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
- Additional Requirements: Familiarity with PETRONAS HSE-MS and Malaysian HSE laws and regulations is advantageous.
