Scope of Work

Role Overview

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, engineering, and execution of electrical systems for downstream oil & gas / petrochemical projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, ability to lead engineering activities, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams to ensure project delivery in compliance with international standards and client specifications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute electrical engineering design activities for downstream projects (FEED and EPC phases)
  • Prepare and review key deliverables including:
  • Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
  • Load Lists and Power Distribution Studies
  • Cable Sizing & Routing
  • Earthing & Lightning Protection Design
  • Electrical Equipment Specifications
  • Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination)
  • Interface with vendors for technical bid evaluation and equipment selection
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil) to ensure design integration
  • Review and approve vendor drawings and documents
  • Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, etc.)
  • Provide technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases
  • Support FAT, SAT, and site troubleshooting activities when required
  • Mentor junior engineers and review their deliverables


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 to 10 years of experience in oil & gas / petrochemical projects
  • Proven experience in downstream (refinery / petrochemical) projects
  • Strong exposure to FEED and EPC phases
  • Hands-on experience with electrical design and engineering calculations
  • Familiar with international standards (IEC, IEEE, API where applicable)
  • Experience with electrical engineering software/tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage project deliverables


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with international engineering contractors or EPC companies
  • Previous involvement in large-scale refinery or petrochemical projects
