Scope of Work

Job Summary:

The Head of Operation for a coal-fired power plant in Indonesia, will oversee all operational aspects of the facility. This role demands a highly experienced professional with over a decade of expertise in power plant operations, particularly within coal-fired plants. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the plant operates at peak efficiency, adheres to safety and environmental standards, and meets production targets.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the daily operations of the coal-fired power plant to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  2. Develop and implement operational strategies and procedures to improve performance and achieve plant objectives.
  3. Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
  4. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the team.
  5. Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and development opportunities for team members.
  6. Monitor plant performance metrics, including output, efficiency, and safety, and implement improvements as needed.
  7. Prepare detailed reports on operational performance, safety incidents, and compliance for senior management.
  8. Ensure the plant operates in compliance with all local, national, and international regulations, particularly environmental standards related to coal-fired power generation.
  9. Implement and enforce stringent safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment.
  10. Lead investigations into any incidents or accidents and implement corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
  11. Oversee the maintenance of plant equipment and infrastructure to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
  12. Plan and manage upgrades and modernization projects to enhance operational capabilities and efficiency.
  13. Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high standards of safety and performance.
  14. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising operational integrity.
  15. Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and industry partners to ensure compliance and foster positive relationships.
  16. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align operational goals with business objectives.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is advantageous.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role within a coal-fired power plant.
  3. Proven track record of managing large teams and complex operations in the power generation sector.
  4. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  6. In-depth knowledge of coal-fired power plant operations, maintenance, and safety protocols.
  7. Familiarity with environmental and regulatory requirements specific to coal-fired power generation.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
