Job Summary:
The Head of Operation for a coal-fired power plant in Indonesia, will oversee all operational aspects of the facility. This role demands a highly experienced professional with over a decade of expertise in power plant operations, particularly within coal-fired plants. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the plant operates at peak efficiency, adheres to safety and environmental standards, and meets production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the coal-fired power plant to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and implement operational strategies and procedures to improve performance and achieve plant objectives.
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and development opportunities for team members.
- Monitor plant performance metrics, including output, efficiency, and safety, and implement improvements as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports on operational performance, safety incidents, and compliance for senior management.
- Ensure the plant operates in compliance with all local, national, and international regulations, particularly environmental standards related to coal-fired power generation.
- Implement and enforce stringent safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment.
- Lead investigations into any incidents or accidents and implement corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Oversee the maintenance of plant equipment and infrastructure to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
- Plan and manage upgrades and modernization projects to enhance operational capabilities and efficiency.
- Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high standards of safety and performance.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising operational integrity.
- Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and industry partners to ensure compliance and foster positive relationships.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align operational goals with business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is advantageous.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role within a coal-fired power plant.
- Proven track record of managing large teams and complex operations in the power generation sector.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- In-depth knowledge of coal-fired power plant operations, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with environmental and regulatory requirements specific to coal-fired power generation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
