Scope of Work

  • The selected engineer will join a multidisciplinary engineering team handling HVAC system modifications and new designs across oil & gas infrastructure. Responsibilities include:
  • Designing and modifying HVAC systems for offshore and onshore facilities (MCC/Control Rooms, Telecom, Electrical Rooms)
  • Performing HVAC load calculations and equipment sizing using standard methods (ASHRAE)
  • Generating and reviewing HVAC deliverables: layout drawings, ducting routing, HVAC D&ID, BOQ, equipment specs
  • Participating in technical clarifications, design reviews, and client meetings
  • Ensuring compliance with PETRONAS Technical Standards (PTS), ASHRAE, and other project-specific codes
  • Coordinating across disciplines (electrical, mechanical, civil/structural, instrumentation)
  • Providing office-based support to construction/commissioning teams when needed


Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5–10 years HVAC experience in oil & gas projects (FPSO, CPP, WHP, petrochemical, or gas terminals)
  • Strong familiarity with offshore HVAC systems (positive pressure systems, redundancy, explosion-proof zones)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, HAP, and HVAC system simulation software
  • Hands-on experience with generating HVAC documents: equipment datasheets, D&IDs, duct/piping layout, MTO, technical specs
  • Prior exposure to brownfield modifications, space-constrained HVAC routing, and system upgrades


Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with PETRONAS PTS, Shell DEP, or equivalent oil & gas standards
  • Experience supporting HVAC vendor selection and technical bid evaluations
  • Exposure to construction/commissioning interface or site query resolution
  • Understanding of hazardous area classifications (ATEX/IECEx) and their impact on HVAC design


Notes

  • This is a full-time office-based role (KLCC – no remote, no offshore rotation)
  • Interview and onboarding will be handled on short notice due to urgent mobilization timeline
