Scope of Work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead geological assessments of exploration and appraisal opportunities in offshore Malaysia.
  • Interpret and integrate seismic, well, and geological datasets to generate drillable prospects.
  • Conduct structural and stratigraphic mapping, play fairway analysis, and depositional modeling.
  • Prepare volumetric assessments and risk analysis in accordance with internal and JV standards.
  • Collaborate closely with joint venture partners and regulatory bodies.
  • Present geological evaluations and prospect justifications to stakeholders.
  • Support drilling operations through well planning and subsurface modeling.
  • Mentor junior geoscientists and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.


Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Science, or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree in Petroleum Geoscience or Structural Geology is advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of upstream E&P experience, with strong focus on offshore and deepwater environments.
  • Proven experience in PSC-based exploration projects.
  • Familiarity with Malaysia’s geological basins, especially offshore Sabah, is a strong plus.
  • Experience working in international joint venture settings preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in geological and seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom).
  • Skilled in prospect maturation, volumetric calculations, and risking methodology.
  • Understanding of basin evolution, play concepts, and geochemical systems.
